At the end of 2014, I decided to start a blog about books and literature and brought lesestunden.de to life. For a long time, I hesitated because books are something very personal, something quite private that concerns oneself at first, and sharing that can be rather difficult. How can one possibly share the great adventures, the vivid and emotionally charged images that take shape within one\u2019s own mind?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Above you can see a picture of my well-stocked bookshelf. Many truly beautiful editions can be found there\u2014numerous classics in bibliophile editions, but also fantasy, novels, a few sentimental romances, novellas\u2014so a wide range of excellent literature. In this blog, I review a selection of beautiful and recommendable books from my collection.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Every book has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and the souls of those who have read it, lived it, and dreamed about it.<\/p>\r\n“The Shadow of the Wind”<\/em> by Carlos Ruiz Zaf\u00f3n<\/cite><\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My focus is on classics, especially elegant editions of them, and I love the experience that this timeless literature offers. Bibliophile editions are simply a pleasure, and over the years, I\u2019ve collected many beautiful books\u2014many of which I also present here on this blog. But just take a look at my overview of reviews<\/a> to get an impression.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Unlike other book bloggers, you won\u2019t find every book I read here. I read many books just for myself, mention them nowhere, and enjoy keeping that reading experience private, immersing myself in them without distraction. You can find more about this topic in my post about book blogging and data protection<\/a>. A recurring theme here is also reading itself\u2014everything related to the reading experience\u2014as well as insights into the publishing world and the book blogger community. So besides reviews, you\u2019ll also find a variety of other articles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I hope you enjoy this blog. Feel free to give me feedback, share your thoughts, and discuss with me. I\u2019m definitely looking forward to sharing my treasures with you and hope that some of you will find inspiration here for a good book.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
