Things have become very quiet on this blog \u2014 which, to be fair, is quite typical for such a private project and for blogs in general. For various reasons, my reading time has decreased significantly, which naturally has a direct impact on lesestunden.de. I\u2019m generally pretty relaxed about these things, so I approach blogging in whatever way best fits my daily life and current rhythm. So if things are a little slow here at the moment, there will surely come a time when I\u2019m completely back into it and posting actively again. I therefore ask for a little patience and understanding for such an unreliable blogger as myself.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thanks to certain viruses, I\u2019m still fully working from home \u2014 so the pleasant reading time I used to enjoy on my commute is still missing. On top of that, in recent weeks I\u2019ve been giving myself over mostly to the pleasures of gaming, which hasn\u2019t exactly been great for this blog either. I have, however, done a bit of reading here and there, but mostly books that weren\u2019t particularly interesting, so I didn\u2019t feel like writing about them. And I started a book by Karl May \u2014 quite entertaining, actually, but also rather a bunch of nonsense, not really worth blogging about in much detail.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But a look at the upcoming releases reveals some very lovely books that I definitely want to read \u2014 ones that should make for a reading-rich autumn. Among them is Memoirs of a Madman<\/a> by Gustave Flaubert, which will be published in October by Hanser Verlag, once again translated by Elisabeth Edl. At the end of this month comes Party Time<\/a> by F. Scott Fitzgerald \u2014 I\u2019ll definitely be there for that one too. It\u2019s very much in the same spirit as Love in the Night<\/a>, which was published two years ago by Diogenes Verlag and which I really enjoyed. Warm summer nights, parties in the Roaring Twenties, love stories \u2014 that\u2019s simply perfect for summer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

On a completely unliterary note, I\u2019ve had to reorganize my bookshelf recently. It was previously arranged by color \u2014 and still is \u2014 because that just looks tidy and stylish. But now there\u2019s an additional rule: after the youngest member of the family decided to dismantle my humble record collection, I\u2019ve rearranged everything so that the books I truly value and love are now on the very top shelf, and the easily replaceable ones are lower down. My unique editions are now high above, while cheap paperback romances are relegated to the bottom. How do you organize your bookshelves? Do you also have a sorting system that\u2019s not so easy to decipher?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We\u2019ll see what happens on the literary front for me in the coming months. I still have a few games in my queue, but usually, at some point, the urge strikes and I dive right back into the world of literature. When that happens, I\u2019ll take you along and fill lesestunden.de with new posts again.
